Fundación porqueViven participates together with Asociación Latir in the workshop organized by the Subdirección de RRII, Innovación y Humanización del Hospital Materno Infantil, Miguel Servet de Zaragoza, on the occasion of the Day of the Hospitalized Child with a joint session of music therapy.
Madrid 13 mayo 2025.- on the occasion of Hospitalized Children’s Day, the Cinema Room of the Miguel Servet Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Zaragoza will be filled with music and fantasy with the “Music for All” Workshop. This activity, organized by the hospital’s RRII, Innovation and Humanization Department, is focused on music as a tool for meeting, expression and care.
The workshop starts at 10:45 a.m., in the cinema of the Hospital, where Carla Navarro, music therapist of the Fundación porqueViven Together with Loreto Caso and Sara Cobos, music therapists of the Latir Association, they invite all those present to become percussionists, singers and artists for a day.
This participatory music therapy session fills the hospital space with joy and emotional connection through a theme that children are passionate about: Pirates. Buccaneer rhythms, boomwhackers as sabers and improvisation will make this meeting an unforgettable moment.
A day to celebrate life in the hospital
During the session, children admitted to the hospital and their families who come to the Cinema Room actively participate in an interactive musical experience, using adapted instruments and exploring sounds that encourage emotional expression and emotional connection.
“Music transforms the hospital space, humanizes it and allows children and their families to feel like the protagonists of their own sound story.”
— Carla Navarro, music therapist of the Foundation porqueViven
Music therapy: a mainstay in pediatric palliative care
Music therapy is a therapeutic discipline that uses music to improve the lives of patients. In the context of pediatric palliative care, it offers significant benefits:
- Relief from pain and anxiety: Music helps reduce the perception of pain and decrease stress levels in children.
- Improved communication: It facilitates the expression of emotions and thoughts that are difficult to verbalize, strengthening the bond between the child and his family.
- Humanization of the hospital environment: Transforms clinical spaces into warmer and more welcoming environments, favoring emotional well-being.
The Foundation porque Viven integrates music therapy into its comprehensive care model, recognizing its value in accompanying children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.
“Our commitment is to provide care that not only alleviates physical suffering, but also cares for the souls of children and their families. Music therapy is a powerful tool in this journey..”
— José Carlos López Seisdedos, Director of the Foundation porqueViven
